With the release
of Phil’s debut comedy album, Pervert,
chicks are taking notice. iTunes featured the album,
which cracked the Top 40 in their Comedy Chart
and is averaging 4 out of 5 stars from over 30 customer
reviews.
Punchline
Magazine wrote, “Phil Mazo brings a light-hearted,
almost highbrow tone to cringe comedy,” and also featured
Phil in its A
Tight Five video interview series. Meanwhile, The
Serious Comedy Site is “seriously betting Mazo
will get ‘discovered’ by some major studio, get his
own sitcom or a couple of blockbuster movies.”
Indeed, his
role in the film High
Hopes helped earn it acceptances to both the Cannes
Film Festival Short Corner and HBO's New York
International Latino Film Festival. In the film, Phil
plays two separate characters. He is also starring in a national
commercial
for CarMax.
Phil’s
many national radio appearances include The Bob &
Tom Show, and his
standup is in regular rotation on Sirius XM Satellite
Radio’s Raw Dog Comedy channel and AOL
Radio's Comedy Attack! station. His
writing has appeared in the New
York Post, Sports
Illustrated and The Complete Idiot’s
Guide to Jokes.
Phil represented
the United States in Yuk Yuk's 2009 Great Canadian Laugh
Off, is one of only ten comedians selected to
perform in The New York City Underground Comedy Festival's Emerging
Comic's Contest and was also recognized by the festival
as one of the best comedians under 30.
Phil is also
a cartoonist, musician, and filmmaker whose comedy videos have
attracted over 400 subscribers on YouTube
alone.
